Local Conservative MP Matt Vickers slammed Labour in the House of Commons for building far too many houses in Yarm, far too fast.
The local MP spoke in the Commons today (Thursday, 5th June) to highlight the issue, which is causing huge concern to Yarm residents.
The Council’s reckless housebuilding rush is putting huge pressure on roads, schools, and GP surgeries.
Labour’s development attack on Yarm comes on top of their attack on the town’s high street – announced last month – which included rusty plant pots and the removal of the town’s last two pontoons.
A recent survey conducted by Matt Vickers MP, completed by almost 1,000 people, found that over 96% of local people feel Stockton’s Labour Council has built too many houses in Yarm, too fast.
Stockton’s Labour Council must listen to Yarm’s residents
Stockton’s Conservative MP Matt Vickers said:
“Yarm is being battered by Stockton Labour Council’s reckless rush to build far too many houses in Yarm, far too fast.
“Labour is not listening to the views of residents – and it’s putting huge pressure on roads, schools, and GP surgeries.
“Labour must stop their continued attacks on Yarm, to protect our town from being pushed to breaking point.”
Matt is continuing his engagement with residents, businesses and councillors to demand that Stockton’s Labour Council to change their plans and is urging residents to get in touch to express their views.
