Yarm’s Banking Hub is continuing to go from strength to strength, months after opening following a campaign backed by Matt Vickers MP to protect access to face-to-face banking in the town.
Matt recently visited the Hub at 82a High Street to meet the team who run and oversee the service, hear how it has been received by residents, and see first-hand the support it is providing to the local community.
The Hub was secured following calls for improved banking provision in Yarm, with Matt supporting the campaign and petition for a dedicated face-to-face banking service in the town.
Since opening, it has provided residents and local businesses with access to a range of everyday banking services, including cash withdrawals and deposits, cheque deposits, balance enquiries and support from community bankers representing major high street banks.
Matt Vickers MP said:
“It’s fantastic to see Yarm’s Banking Hub going from strength to strength.
“I was proud to back the campaign and petition to help secure a Banking Hub for Yarm, so it was great to visit, meet the team who run and oversee it, and see the service in action.
“For many people, particularly those who prefer or rely on face-to-face banking, having somewhere local where they can speak to someone in person really matters.
“The Hub is already proving to be a really valuable service for residents and businesses, and I want to make sure as many local people as possible know it is here and know where to find it.”
The Banking Hub is located at 82a High Street, Yarm, TS15 9AP
It is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
The Hub is operated by Cash Access UK and provides shared banking services for customers of major high street banks.
