Matt is Stockton born and bred and he's proud of it. Driven by a genuine love of our area Matt is working day and night to stand up for Stockton South.
Born at North Tees, the son of a builder and a hairdresser, he has stacked shelves, pulled pints and laid bricks in Stockton South. Born locally, raised locally and educated locally, he knows the problems our area faces and is determined to solve them.
Matt has a history in politics, having acted as constituency agent for titans of the political scene Matt knows how to get his point across. First working for William Hague and later running Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak's successful election campaign, Matt gives Stockton South a known name in places of Government.
Having acted as councillor for Hartburn Ward and led the opposition on Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council since May 2015, Matt has been working for the people of Stockton South for nearly a decade. Standing up for our Local highstreets, Matt campaigned against the overdevelopment, crowding and congestion of towns and villages throughout Stockton and Yarm without the sustainable development to go with the growth. Having came from a background in retail and business, Matt has the interests of our highstreets and towns at heart and the solutions to go with it.
Matt takes every opportunity to visit constituents, local businesses and see the work of local residents. It's the best part of the job! If you feel there is something Matt could do to help, or you want to show off your pride in part of Stockton don't hesitate to get in touch.
