Starting with our share of the 20,000 new officers being recruited. We will give them the extra resources and they need to be able to do their jobs. Matt also wants to roll out no cold calling zones and more CCTV across the constituency to keep residents safe.
Matt wants to make sure young people have access to the best start in life. We need new teaching blocks, better sports facilities and more young people in Stockton South have the best start.
New housing should work for us, not just the developers. Current plans by the council for new homes are ill-thought-out, adding more congestion onto our already busy roads. We need homes in the right places that people can afford, with the schools and infrastructure they need.
By upgrading the A66, building an additional Tees crossing and using extra funds to tackle potholes, we can ease congestion. I will also work to ensure more regular train services and support the Mayor develop a plan for our airport.
With more appointments at the Urgent Care Centre and support for North Tees Hospital we can take the pressure of A&E so you and your family get more care and support when you need it most.
We need to encourage more businesses to move here and benefit from employing our hardworking people and creating more apprenticeships. Teesside is already benefitting from the Freeport which will create more than 18,000 good jobs – but we must not stop there!
